IMPORTANT: Server Maintenance is scheduled at 9 pm Pacific, Wed., Nov. 23. Don't start any Tests or Final after 5 pm; log out by 8 pm.
While you're enjoying the fireworks July 4th, our engineers will be taking the campus offline to implement a significant upgrade to the servers. The campus will be migrated to a new server platform. Actually, it's a state of the art "serverless" platform that will grow with us in future and facilitate a large expansion in students and traffic without requiring future site upgrades of this type. Due to the large amount of data that needs to be transferred from the old server to the new platform, the campus will be offline for at least 24 hours. We have chosen July 4th holiday so as to minimize the disruption to students and teachers—who will hopefully be taking some time off to celebrate the holiday. Our engineering team will be working overnight to complete the upgrade as quickly as possible. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
We have updated our method of measuring course progress. Our new progress bar gives more weight to the unit assignments and tests, and less to quizzes. We want you to complete the unit assignment after finishing unit quizzes and before taking the unit test. This approach is the most effective way to retain information and reinforce the concepts learned in the unit. Although the unit assignments may be challenging, it is important to complete them to reinforce your knowledge before moving on to the next unit. Once you reach 80% on the new progress bar, you have completed all the units and should allocate time to prepare for the final exam by revising the course material.
We recommend using the Suggested Timelines to create an effective pacing guide rather than relying on the progress bar. This will help you build good time management skills and allow for planning ahead. If you start to fall behind in a course, invest more time to catch up. Our goal is for you to successfully complete the course within your desired timeline, and achieve the best possible outcome.
Read the course instructions in your course to understand how to succeed!
